Monitoring public policy: Getting inspired with the Vouliwatch case study

Within the Civics 4.0. MOOC, the aspect of monitoring public policy was explored as one of the main rights and responsibilities of active citizens. Therefore, the course presented some ideas and tools on how citizens can influence and monitor policy making and policy implementation thanks to digital technologies. 

In order to understand a practical case, the NEXUS talked with Stefanos Loukopoulos, Founder of Vouliwatch, a digital interactive platform that allows Greek citizens to participate and monitor the Greek legislative process. It allows citizens to hold their officials accountable and enhances the transparency of political processes.

    Inspiring like this are necessary to show us that, to make a change, there is no need to have a lot of resources, the important thing is to have the determination and a clear goal to achieve.
